Rehashed 20140628 Dipstick

Run: 1093 Hare: Dipstik Venue: Mantin Cohares: 2 + Guitarman (part time)

Run site at Mantin Field

The run and even the weather was very well organized. To knock down the haze the hare somehow managed that it rained quite heavily, but stopped when the run was about to start.

The in-trail was across the field at the sawmill, entering a small path along a orchard and later hitting a uphill gravel road, which was just recently bulldozed to ease the climb. Furthermore along the roadside lovely fruits could be found for those who took the time and had the skills to open them up. Again, big hand for Dipstick’s arrangement!

Not much time was wasted to break a couple of checks. After reaching the top of the hill the trail sloped down for a while and it appeared like it was the home-trail already, but after a sharp right-turn and crossing a little stream another hill had to be climbed. One more check at a birdhouse and further up to the hilltop before a long, steep downhill stretch finally hit the road.

The run was not yet up to Sago’s standard, so instead of turning to the right side he convinced me to run a bit more on the road to the left, before making a U-turn after 10 minutes to stroll the 2-3 km distance all the way back on the road to reach the runsite at 8pm.

Run was rated as ‘good run’, plenty of beer (but still no ‘beer-man’) and good food by onsite caterer.

Rehashed 20121229 Dipstick

Run: 1015 Hare: Dipstick Venue: Gasing Hill Cohares: No co-hare

The Hare, Dipstick, planned to be a live hare but with the trails in Gasing hill being clean, well trodden paths, he needed to be quick and he knew if he took a co-hare, he may lose a bottle of whiskey. So no co-hare, he could not afford the chances of being caught, he went in alone with a 15 mins head start.

The papers led down the usual in-trail and hit the left and the climb to the watch tower. FRom the tower, the trail led left down to the out trail, but it before it hit the bridge, the papers swung right to give runners a couple of more climbs, one of which was quite steep going up and coming down.

The trail led through the hanging bridge and out to the tarmac road and playground and going back under canopy for the last short climb back to home.

The hare was out in 50 mins while the first runner was out in an hour. Apparently the trail was disconnected by some 'good hearted' people who wanted to keep the trail clean. This cost the FRBs some 10 mins to find the correct trail.

On On onsite.

Rehashed 20110625 Dipstick

Run: 936 Hare: Dipstick Venue: Mantin Cohares:...

The Hare Dipstick New run site for HLH4, I was supposed to be here a few times ago but have to miss due to work. At last, I got to have a go at these hills. Driving uphill on the tarmac road has already ‘informing’ us how high we would be climbing later on during the run!

The hare contracted Mantin H4 GM and Seremban Hazards’ GH to set this outing and proven that it would not be a mess up. The run started with a walk uphill on the tarmac and continued to almost about a good sweat before the dry slippery downhill into the OP.

We further went on the offtrack to see the exit from LEKAS to Seremban and followed a hill drain up. We got round one hill after the other to chase the high tension pylons, not easy as it sound as the hills are not that high not low, a few of these will surely tame almost everyone!

We got to the start of the back ridge of the hill where we started and it was a long climb up! Yes, climbing that surely have me panting and tongue wagging! The run was not long but the climbs sure squeezed the sweat out of me! A good hilly work out but was only about 6.5km on a 1500ft asl. Nice scenic view from the run site and breezy too!

Guest from 'long time ago', a childhood friend of Chong Kok Man and the Kajang fellas - Kiss.

Thank you Chong Kok Man for handling the ZhangJiaJie trip to join Solstice Hash On Tour for the our members who were there.

ZhangJiaJie = RM3000 trip + RM6000 shopping = Amelia = 'Big Spender'...hahaha
