Rehashed 20120623 Long John Silver

Run: 988 Hare: Long John Silver Venue: Sg Jelok Cohare: Munster

About 35 members and a few guests turned up on a beautiful evening at this favorite Live Hare runsite. This time, however, the hare had two-hour head start and, as usual, no one could catch the hare.

It was the same in-trial with the right at the fork and then mid-way up the hill, cross the little gush of water on the left. From there it went up for s short while and then down all the way from where a small group of already tired hashers decided to head home.

The majority, however, followed the hare's trail for a grueling climb to the top. From there it was all the way down to home. The last check placed about two hundred meters away from the back check had only Kenching getting to it for a quick pee.

The FRB was out about 7.15pm and the last few on paper about half an hour later.

Chong Kok Mam commented "Not my standard".

On On onsite with fish sambal, chicken curry and the other stuff.

(From Kajang head towards Bangi Lama along the old Bangi-Kajang road. Just before Bangi Lama town turn right and go under flyover towards Dengkil. After JPJ and Bukit Unggul Golf, keep going straight. Go pass two traffic lights. At the next (3rd) traffic lights, make a U-turn and head back about 500 meters and park near/under the railway bridge on your left.

Those coming from KL, get onto the Maju Highway. After paying toll, keep left towards Putrajaya and follow straight and turn left (middle) exit to Dengkil. Take the next immediate left towards Dengkil, Wetlands etc. When on the Dengkil bypass road, follow signs to BB Salak Tinggi (not Dengkil) and KLIA. At the major crossroad traffic lights, turn left towards Kajang. Go pass 2 traffic lights and about 500 meters after 2nd traffic lights, park at left near/under railway tracks.)

Run: 906 Hare: Long John Silver Venue: Broga Cohares: Kiki, Cowlin, Sunny

Hare Long John

As the hashers arrived at the runsite, the sky opend up for a heavy downpour. Parking was on the roadside to give way for the trucks going to the chicken farm.Luckily the rain stopped just before OnOn was called. In trail led along the road for about 500m, then turned off to the left following a trail into the rubber plantation where the first check was laid.

Dipstick, NoHair and some hashers went checking in the rubber, but could not find the paper, no thanks to the heavy rain which either washed away the paper or rendered it not visible. Finally OnOn was called at the back going down a slope into a muddy area and again paper could not be found. After some more confusion, Chickadee and Silent Dragon were already planning to find their own way, when finally Kelam Kabut found the paper leading to the right.

The trail then took the runners into the bushes, across a small stream and went up the hill. A check here was quickly broken on the left and from there it was a more or less a steady climb (or should I say crawl) up until the grassy area and then right to the hilltop.

It was almost dark when the trail went up to the second and then the third hill where another check was waiting. Dipstick moved on to the 3rd hill but the check was broken somewhere on the second hill down to the left, into the bushes and soon hit an extremely slippery concrete trail which left many hashers skidding and falling on their way down.

It took some time to descend and get on to the flat trail to the parking area. First runner out in 2:05, last runner out about 20 minutes later was Dipstick, mumbling: “too dark to run…”.

(Webmaster's note: Knowing Bandit's 'fondness' for hills, we asked him to let us have his thoughts of the run and he sent the following. Some words, phrases had to be peeped)

Despite the heavy rain where visibility was reduced to just two cars ahead, managed to get to the runsite just as the last few were going in (some think I purposely come late to avoid a climb). Caught up with the back pack at the 1st check which was still not broken. Tried a back check and found torn paper leading down to the rentice where Kelam Kabut was calling the wayward harriets back to the correct trail.

As the girls came up, one of them asked me "can you sound the horn louder and longer?". Seeing my puzzled face, she continued "Billy No Hair, he did not come yet." (the picture on the right, the harriet calling out for her beau.)

Ganodema As the papers took us under canopy, our 'environmentalist' friend, Kelam Kabut, stopped to admire something and then he called out if I had a camera. So I obliged and took the pix on the left for him. Yeah, that is not something one sees often.

Ok, about the run, the first hill okay, 2nd hill a crawl but 'boleh tahan', 3rd hill, #@$*%&#, 4th hill, grrrrr &*$*@#%$@#, 5th hill neeeah meh #@%&%, 6th hill, 7th hill, nak mampus. When you thought that would have been the end, the 'bukit botak' standing majestically beckoned in the twilight

The descend was equally torturous and slow but managed to reach base camp around 8.30pm.

((Webmaster's note: For Bandit, one climb was equivalent to 3 hills; one hilltop and two foothills.)

Next Run: No 907 Date: 04/12/2010Hare: JPS Jit Venue: JPJ Jalan Kajang-Dengkil

Run: 828 Hare: Long John Silver Venue: Sg Tangkas Cohare: Guitarman

 The Long John All were anxious for this hare's run, hoping to get good run out of the evening. There were guests and members on the run site early as well, the hare and his 'cousin' was back on site and was asked about the length of his 'lan' (run).

The run started with Jointmaster yelling from the top of his lungs but the crowd seemed to be 'reluctant' as from the opposite mood just before the run. The pack was led to a laterite road just on the opposite side and was horrified with the amount of rubbish dumped there. It was a torturing 5-7mins pass the rubbish and burnings. The front pack met a few cows to ask for direction as the trail papers were hidden by the rubbish strewn all over the place.

At last, the pack was on the palm oil estate laterite road for a second or two to come to the first check. Dipstick found a falsie and back pack broke the check without realising they were on paper after the FRBs ticked them off for not calling out, it was later found that they tried to shortcut.

The hashers could now breathe more easily and freely as the air in the area was fresh and clean again. This lifted the spirit of the runners - anticipating all checks and breaking them easily. What seemed like taking the 'whore' by the 'ass' just before on home trail did not materialise.

The front runners were discussing the possible trail even before reaching the checks while running and most guesses were correct thus the first was out in 45mins (late starters were surprised to see the front runners, "huh? finished already?"). Some who did not have enough sweat to wet their balls, visited the 'whore' before getting back on paper. Who could resist? Passing by the 'whore's beautiful ass' without giving it a try? Some sure did and got wet. (Come to HLH4 if you wanted to 'get fresh' with the 'whore' when running in Bandar Teknologi Kajang and Sungai Tangkas)

The hare was ridiculed by the middle pack and the usual back pack upon reaching home.

"Ingat tarak bawak anjing boleh lari kuat kuat! Tengok! Habis lari pun tarak peluh banyak!"
"What lah! Old man like me also had it easy finishing today..."
"Not my standard! Not my standard! Not my standard!"
"Good run lah, bai....but a little too short!"
"Co-hare, co-hare....siapa?" "eh, your 'lan' is longer than your run...."
"hey....see, see....HLH5 guys also finished the run and still running out!!"

So too, it was that the hare welcomed the sarcastic remarks and with a big sneaky grin and thought "...this is my revenge." With the jokes and ridicules going on, the hare gave out good 'after run food' with his famous sardine sandwiches, wild boar curry and sorts. Nonetheless, the hare and the pack was in good jolly mood with him as the butt of the jokes.

Rani of KL Dalmatians In the circle:

Deep gratitude message from American Sam (recovering from 2nd stroke) for the well wishes and contributions from HLH4 members.

KL Dalmatians H4 (Jointmistress (pix on left) was happy holding the 'Big Mike') reminded HLH4 of their 5th anniversary run on 27th June in Damansara Perdana.

Iced in the circle were:

Long John Silver - put the pack on the rubbish road;
Guitarman - as co-hare denied seeing any rubbish or sampah but confirmed got a lot of 'lap sip' (hakka dialect);
Small Aru - wanted to know what the ice was for and got the answer;
Shopping Queen - not paying attention;
Gary - a front runner guest in HLH5;
JPS - just for fun;
No Hair - 'two five' a wrong person;
Bulldozer - nice to see some 'black moons';
BumbleBee - 'Owaga' comfort chair.

OnOn was on site by LJS Caterer with no frills (no coconut milk) but plenty of thrills (spicy), tasty makan. Beers were ordered to be free flowed as the hare was praised to have everybody completed the run! On further 'ticklings' by the pack, the hare announced OnOnOn in the usual 'member's place'. Run: 759 Hare: Iqbal Long John Venue: Sri Haneco Co-Hare: Kiki

The Hare Iqbal Long John About 30 members turned up for the GM's run at Sri Hanikoh. Although it was raining heavily in Kajang, the weather at the runsite was fine until just before the circle was called to order and then it poured.

The run was quite similar to Gary Leong's last run here. This evening's run was just a reverse. The run started on the track on the left side of the fishing pond and ended on the track on the right side of the fishing pond.

The first runner was out in 1hr and 7 mins. Advisor Song Lau was surprisingly out among the top 5.

On on on site with home cooked food. (RG)

Next Run: No 760 Date: 09/02/2008 Hare: Dev Dipstick Venue: Bukit Serdang
(Drive to Seri Kembangan town. Turn at the Public Bank junction. Head to the Petronas station nearby and follow HLH4 signs. The Google map is at the side bar)
