Rehashed 20120218 Showtime

Run: 970 Hare: Showtime Venue: Sg Jelok Cohares: ...

Another attempt to do a run at this runsite without decuf. The run started sharp at 6, going in by the little stream on the left. Paper was not our usual HLH4 paper, some 4x4 recycling paper instead. Crossing the stream the first check was layed.

Dipstick forward checking and climbing the hill at the left, Sexy Showman confused the pack by calling OnOn further to the left, confused by Mother Hash paper which he thought would be our chapter’s paper (somebody need to show him how HLH4 paper looks like). Finally OnOn was called to the usual steep hill to the right (the one Bandit got his hill-phobia from).

Gary peeping around a corner, trying to sneak out to avoid that hill and only after Dipstick threatened him to be put on ice reluctantly started climbing.

After reaching the top the trail was quite nice to run. Paper was easy to follow and checks were nicely connected (big hand to SK!). After 50 minutes reaching the big hut and the usual motorbike trail going down, back to the runsite.

First runner out in about one hour, last runner with 2 guests not out until 11:00…..

Rehashed 20120204 Abraham Wong

Run: No 968 Hare: Abraham Wong Venue: Sg Jelok Cohares: Sang Wat

The weather was when the members were getting to the runsite. However, when Bulldozer put on his running shoes, there was a slight drizzle which gave him second thoughts about going in.

But there was no rain and at the On On call, twenty odd members hit the trail just as Bandit and Long John came in. Silent Dragon and Cowlin waited for Long John to go in together. The in-trail took the right at the first fork for the climb.

Midway up was the first check and Guitarman went further up front to break but it was a back check. When he came down at the On Call, the others had already gone in on the trail across the stream on the left. As Guitarman waited while deciding whether to continue, do a DIY or turn back, Bandit came up.

Guitarman complained of a bad knee, while Bandit said he had stamina problems, both giving excuses for not wanting to complete the run. But still continued up. Going slightly up, 'ARE YOU's were heard, so Guitarman took a path on the left while Bandit went further up and another path also to the left where old CH4 papers were seen.

Meanwhile, Long John, Silent Dragon, Aru and Cowlin came up continued on the paper trail which kept going up and up. While Bandit continued up, Guitarman disappeared doing a DIY. Reaching the top, Cowlin, on the pretext of looking for Micheal, turned back.

From the top, the papers went down slightly before leveling and going towards the left, leading the runners precariously by the side of some gullies. By the time Long John and Aru reached the last check, the front runners had re-grouped, being not able to break the check and discussing whether to turn back.

Long John voiced his dissatisfaction, saying it was not his standard to turn back. With no other choice, the group turned and Bulldozer tried the known path which leads to home. Meanwhile, Eto was seen using her phone, frantically calling someone. The time was around seven so bookies would have stopped taking bets. But it turned out, she panicked when the group decided to turn back leaving her hubby who was up front still trying to break the last check.

Taking this path with Bulldozer leading, they found papers and called On On before meeting Cowlin who was coming up the out-trail. From thereon, it was all the way down and home. Cha Cha, the last to go in, came out overtaking the back runners.

On On onsite - Bicycleman stuff.

Rehashed 20110827 BruiseLee

Run: 945 Hare: Bruise Lee Venue: Sg Jelok Cohares: Lester ABC

Runsite at Sg Jelok (again), roped-in Co-hare, Lester ABC (again), a combination that invariably means a 'Live Hare" run. (Not that HLH4's runs are dead hare runs, it just depends on the time the hare sets off to lay the trail).

The hare, Bruise, has been running with HLH4 since its formation, till he felt it necessary to leave, to polish up on his English (and rejoined after getting his 'foreign' accent), is a runner, coming out usually as a FRB. But these days after rejoining, with age and the 'foreign accent' taking its toll, he just completes the run to savour the golden piss.

Bruise knew he would not be able to keep up with his co-hare. so he did the next best thing a hasher does after the a run (no, not screwing something or someone up, but the other part), before setting his run. This had the co-hare worried, if he was required to help set the run or help bring the hare out safely.

Anyway, the hares took the right at the first fork and went up the hill similar to the earlier run here. But this time the first check was not a back check, as the trail continued up forward uphill. At the hut, the papers went straight up and right a back check. Here, three seasoned hashers tried to cut across, so to say, on hearing the On call, but in doing so, came face to face with the hares. Long John, Dipstick and Kiki (a word which means 'Pussy' to a Filipina) having 'caught' the hare, so to speak, hit home straight a way and did not complete the run.

This left Kelam Kabut and gang to continue the chase, climbing a couple more hills, and allowing CoCk Pain to hit home 9.65 mins after the hare. Some back packers, led by Chicadee to assist the Pusher, found their own trail back home.

The back pack was out about 40 mins later.

On On onsite. Again, No TOOL of OFFICE. The Bald One took a break this weekend.

Rehashed 20110730 Blood Donor

Run: 941 Live Hare: Blood Donor Venue: Sg Jelok Cohares: Lester ABC, Bruise Lee

The hare Blood DonorA live hare run where the hare and co hares had a fifteen minute head start. The trail took the right at the first fork. There were about five checks. The last check at the top of the hill near the hut took some time to break and confused some.

The 'Confused' including Kelam Kabut followed the scent left by the main hare, Blood Donor, who was the decoy to lead them off track. Kiki with a blocked nose followed by the 'dentist' whose dipper pointed to the correct trail, gave chase to reach home just two minutes behind the hare.

A few others including the GM also managed to find the correct out trail. In total about ten completed the run while the other 20 odd followed Blood Donor's way out.

It was another durian feast as Charlie (bicycle) off loaded a SUV full of the 'obnoxious' 'foul' smelling fruits. When Joachim had a whiff of this, he cut short clean up shower and headed straight for it.

On On Onsite.

Run: 931 Hare: Peter Gigi Putih Venue: Sg Jelok Cohares: ...

The Hare Gigi Putih

Live hare run! The hare waited till 5:45pm and his co-hare/mastermind hadn’t showed-up yet! A phone call finally confirmed that the co-hare was stuck behind some slow driving hasher on the way in!

The pack gave chase and was on the first check at the right side towards the durian orchard and a few of us were dekcuf! The back pack and middle pack got on the correct trail while we were ‘lost’ towards the hills heading towards the back OP! We finally got back on trail after some bashing through some thick bushes and the few steep slopes to reach the motorbike tracks that the paper trail was on.

We were kept running on that towards the back OP but before that we had ran through some steeper gradient slopes in the rubber estates to get towards the back of the OP for the climb up. It was then a long and windy run on the offtracks downhill that we met the whole pack stuck on a double falsie. It was finally broken and running towards the direction of the hills where we were dekcuf!

We got to where we were before and instead of the smooth downhill trail run, the hare turned right for a really steep ascend in the dark! It took some carefully measured steps to get down that slope in the dark with curses thrown in; hoping the hare sneezed uncontrollably!

The FROP finally got back just 5mins before 8 while the hare and co-hare were back 20mins earlier!

Rehashed 20110212 Joey Chong

Run: 917 Hare: Joey Venue: Sg Jelok Cohares: No Hair, YeeMai, Silent Dragon

 The Hare Joey

The co-hares had planned to set a similar trail as set here by another hash chapter recently. After all, two of them also enjoy runs with that hash on a weekly without fail basis, not to mention that they are also key people in that kennel. So they set off to set a 12km run.

Perhaps, one thing they did not bargain for was, Mother (Nature) was on the side of some HLH4 members. The hares laid the trail, going straight at the first fork and crossing the shallow stream for the warm up climb. Hitting the clearing at the top, they planned to swing left for the long loop to hit home from the back, but it was not to be.

The skies opened up, clouds crashed against each other and flashes of lightning gave their warnings to the hares. In fact, No Hair had never seen Yee Mai enjoying so much the spectacular show put on by the electrical storm.

Coming to their senses, they decided to go right, through the mud in the just replanted rubber, throwing in just three checks and straight up to the topmost for the long downhill home trail. The last check took a while to break which slowed down the hashers.

The Hare at the top of the hill Dipstick was FROP just after the hour with Blood Donor pulling the Bee out about forty mins later. The scheduled hare did the run together with others.

The initial few hashers going in to the runsite were held back for a while by swift flowing waters that cut across the road in near the quarry.

On On onsite - spicy Semenyih catered food.

Rehashed20101106 Gary

Run: 903 Hare: Gary Leong Venue: Shooting Range Sg Jelok SubCon Hares: Lester ABC, Chong Kok Man

Lester ABC who was roped in to set the run, once again volunteered to be a live hare. Going in together with Chong Kok Man, they had a fifteen minute head start.

At sharp 6, the runners were let loose. The trail took the right at the fork which led to a very early check. It was a back check to slow down the FROPS. Then came the long and arduous first climb. From the top the papers led down the other side, passed the 'Hut' and went up for a short circular which took the back pack for a ride as it was not disconnected.

After that the front pack was 'lost' as they could not be seen or even heard as they continued the chase to catch the hare. The back pack meanwhile kept pace with the slowest walker until just after the U turn where a climb awaited.

As darkness fell, the climb took its toll on our harriet who had rejoined our kennel after undergoing a major op and before having fully recuperated. With BloodDonor and Ah Hooi keeping company and encouraging her, she slowly descended.

As they were coming down, they saw below what looked like a rescue party but on reaching them or rather the rescue party coming up, the rescue party turned out to be a search party instead.

Apparently, two guests had some cow sense to off paper but then found some common sense to call for help. But before help reached, they somehow or rather managed to get back on paper and was descending when the search party reached them

By 8.30pm all were out. The FROP was out in 55 mins, just 5 mins after the hares.

On On at Viagra cafe where the scheduled hare of the day was opening a food stall.

Rehashed 20100403 Geok Leng

Run: 872 Hare: Geok Leng Venue: Sg Jelok Cohares: Lester ABC, Bruise Low

The Hare Geok Leng Going pass the horrendous dumpsite into shooting range gives you the stinky feeling that we Kajangers are a dirty lot. But the site was still one of our best location in terms of privacy and hash ambience. With all trotting in at about 5.45pm the usual week long drag on their weary face suddenly brightens up as we are going to let off steam and savour the fresh air in the run.

As we hit up the trail into the rubber, Iqbal and Kiki we rummaging into a heap of expired Lipton tea bags trying to convince our On Cash Silent Dragon into stocking up for our future runs without beers! We were heading uphill into the first check before kelam kabut broke the check and on call put us to a zig zagging hunt till next check down the ravine into a stream. A call out for On On was made, catching FROP lkie Pengsan and yours truly when we were searching along the stream. Even our hash dog had a tough time getting the scent back cos the stream would have put off his trail.

Hitting back into the out trail, Dipstick managed to find the last check before Gary shouted On On to the unsuspecting Munster who hit the home run coming out for a bronze medal.

Some packed meehoon and Shandong kacang served as snacks compliment from Blood Donor.

GM started circle with the hare, Ice Cooling and co hares Lester ABC and Bruise Low taking the On down.
Amelia and Guat Ling got their honour for climbing Mt.Annapura base camp....hey you what, they are no more novice climbers but trained to go for Mt. Everest leh!

Dipstick had his share as hash whip getting late comers on ice and Cowlin the Interhash Sex,for simply holding on as Hulu Langat H4 flag bearer while in Jogya Malioboro Run and Bali Run recently....... putting aside his chicken business!

Interhash news on Mt. Kiara on September 11 drew a slacking response and if we want reciprocal registration for our 888 Run we need to do something.....what say you OC Dipstick! Touching also on Pan Indo Lombok collection is on going now with respective group leaders easing my job....that is the power of delegation!

Good homecooked Chinese food "Chap Farn" was served with golden fluid.

Run: 862 Virgin (old) Hare: Bruise Lee Low Yat Foo Venue: Shooting Range Sg Jelok Cohare: Lester ABC

 The hare Bruise Driving in to the runsite, in addition to some big HLH4 signs, there were also signs of Kajang H3. At the runsite, a sign at the back of the co-hare's car read, "HLH4 PARKING". Just 20 metres up, the Kajang H3 was runsited.

Small turnout Many of our members had gone for the Damansara H3' 25 Any Run do. At 6 pm, the 13 or so members waited a while for the other chapter to go in first before going in. The trail markers of both chapters led the hashers on the same path on the left.

The papers led on for the single file walk up on the concrete slabs. Reaching the hut at the durians, it led right across the stream and up and hit the right path to the first check.

It was a circular. "R U", "R U". "Checking". Then after some time when even the back pack had joined in the fray, "Kajang On Back, Kajang On Back". HLH4 stayed back to continue checking when in fact, No Wing had aready broken the back check some half a km away.

Abrahamn, Rat Tail and Blood Donor followed. At the 2nd check, No Wing was not attracted to another climb, so he turned back and Blood Donor followed. They met up with the HLH4 back pack.

Guest, Moon, enticed Khoo Kongsi to follow through on paper while the rest decided it was enough as it was already 7pm and it had started to rain. So only four completed this unofficial joint run. The FROP was out around 7.45pm with Khoo and partner coming out about half an hour later.

Run: 855 Hare: Blood Donor Venue: Shooting Range Sg Jelok Cohares: Lester ABC, Bruise Lee

Hare Blood DonoR A turnout of 40 members with very fine weather.

JM called On On and led the hashers along the usual in-trail. The papers led right up to the house where the first check was met. A false call delayed the hashers a little while before the check was broken across the stream for the first usual claim.

Just before reaching the hilltop, the papers took a right turn along the terraces and then down a soggy trail to cross over the 'waterfall' stream. The 2nd check here was broken up left for another climb.

Reaching the top, the FROP came to the third check. This turned out to be a circular which could not be broken despite the front few going all over. As it was getting dark, they decided to find their way out. Coming out, they hit the home trail.

Kiki, leaving the others to break the third, came out within the hour while those tried a little while longer, came out about half past seven.

Rehashed 20090725

Run: 836 Hare: Nokia Venue: Sg Jelok SubCons: No Hair, ...

The Hare Nokia Simple run was laid with a big loop back to run site but the start was with a killer climb that took the first 'victim' - the co-hare (long time didn't run and too much drinking) just after the first check. It was to the top on the first hill behind the workers' huts.

At the top, on the ridge another check was laid and some short back check broken with some ease but some packs were lost on paper and led by Gigi Putih to turn home not on paper. A run on wide single file paths at the bottom of the hill to meet the 3rd check which was also broken easily.

It was run, run and run till the 'usual' durian orchard where some had took the path to the right to short cut home (led by Blood Donor) and many did continue forward to some more running before meeting the last check near a hut with 'cili padi' plants. A falsie caught some runners who connected it with paper BUT did not collect back, confusing some back packs who had mobile phone out to locate the trail.

The last pack (led by Chickadee & Warranti) could not find the last trail and turned back to the durian orchard to take the path back. All in before 2000hrs with the front in 1hr15mins (KelamKabut, Dipstick & ABC). A thorny home trail stories with some bleeds on shins and calves.

2 guests were present with Maria, who is going to be a member soon, and Bai Bising (the co-hare that 'punctured'). A good handful members went to reccee in the northern part of the country but the turn up was still good.

Ice-d:
Toddy Today The hare, Nokia - multiple times, did not set the run and short cut back, did not prepare and bring food, did not bring extra beers, did not put up the hash signs, did not plan for it either. 'That's what the contractor is for!' Only brought 2 big bottles of 'Ramasamy's product' (pix)
Micheal - 'dog torturer', training Hash but letting him run from the highway to run site.
Gigi Putih - mumbling bard
HongKong Bai - promised to finish this run but failed to do so
KikiLala - training new SCBs
LeeChai - newly trained SCB
Beerman Choo - chickened out on this run knowing No Hair setting run
Ular - KPC
Monster & Nokia - finger pointing as to who left the bar of soap on cunt-plainee's car
(hey! no ladies were on ice again! they have been careful and nice. even BumbleBee did not pluck any cili-padi this time.)

The circle ended with more beers and food to go. OnOn on site by the Brothers' Beers and Caterers (even Joachim liked the extra spicy fish in sambal!) The crowd was on site till about 12 with some beers for 'tah-pow'.

Rehashed 20090606

Run: 829 Hare: Chong Kok Man Venue: Sg Jelok SubCons: Abraham, RatTail

It was hot sunny day with temperatures reaching 39 degC. Most members did not reach the run site early to escape the heat but on time just enough to get prepared and start the run.

The in trail was on the road in to run site (following Mother Hash papers that was recently laid) but just before the tunnel veered right on the laterite road towards some fish farming ponds. An uphill on the left took the pack to the first check, half way up the hill.

A short stop and the check was broken further uphill. The trail brought all to the top and turned right into the rubber tree shades to meet the second check. Due to the day's heat, not many runners wanted to run for checks. Guest Cat found some paper, with Kelam Kabut close behind her, that led to a falsie downhill.

Silent Dragon, a Mother Hasher, took JPS and Long John Silver on the trail that Mother ran and broke the check further up another hill. Soon enough the pack was on the third check and Silent Dragon believing it would follow the Mother Hash papers, went forward to check for quite some time. The pack was left waiting on the check and Guitarman caught some scent and went downhill near the check to have a look.

At the bottom, they found the trail papers and the pack smiled with glee though the sun was still shining the best. With the sun and no tree shades, most were panting and huffing. A short walk that led uphill and further uphill on these bulldozed hills to reach a small valley to find the fourth check. It was broken to the right side of the hill slope with a climb up that hill.

Near reaching the back side of that hill some papers were bulldozed but with CowLin and Kelam Kabut connecting the trail, the pack continued on the trail down hill before being led to another steep uphill, which had some cursing because on a hot sunny day.

The fifth check was waiting for the pack almost on top of this hill with some guessing the home trail was at the foothill as they could see an off-track road. Miaw Miaw and Tsunami were connecting the papers when the check was broken, which led the pack into some bushy rubber tree hills. With a big hairpin turn on the hill slopes brought the pack up a small hill befor going all the way down to some orchards and on the 'usual-when-run here' home trail.

FROP in 1hr25mins, the same time that took the 'U-turners'. Dr Ballcracker with his GPS and 'his troupe' with urges from Jessie followed the GPS direction home without going back uphill to the fifth check on the paper home. Just in front of them, a 'all-wet-to-the balls and pants' JPS and CowLin were doing their usual thing - SCBed. All were back just before 8pm.

The hare was absent due to some business commitments and was not in the country, but his 'cousins' were around to handle what was to be done and put in 4 crates for the club.

Ice-d:

Guitarman - forgot the current run site and ended up at next week's run site;
Bulldozer - sound alike for bulldozing the run papers after the 4th check;
Warranti - coaxing the others not to follow Cat on the falsie;
Henny So - not marking her attendance;
Dr Ballcracker & Jessie - one GPS provider being sweet talked to SCB, & sweet talker;
Ricky Ular - not 'phet-phet' calling for circle;
Gigi Putih - for 'chickening out' after observing from hilltop the running terrain;
