Run: 778 Hare: Warrenti Venue: Sunway Cheras (Wangsa Cheras) Co-Hare: (no co-hare)

The start First, there was the inaugural Joint Malaysia/Indonesia Run at Bukit Tinggi, Padang, Indonesia, for which about 25 members had signed up. Second, a run at Cheras would certainly mean a hill climb. Third, we were into the second week of a 41% petrol hike. And lastly, the hare was Warrenti (who could forget his last few runs).

The hare's note to hashers
Yet about 20 members and some 7 guests managed to find their way to Sunway Cheras. Four of the guests were from KL Dalmations led by their GM. Blackjack, who came in support of the hare. To entice the hashers to go in, the Hare placed a note (pix on right) on his car.

From the runsite, which was a car park at Sunway Cheras, it was a leisurely 1km walk up to the foothills of the Hulu Langat Forest Reserve at Wangsa Cheras. The trail went up all the way to Level 6.

From the top, the papers led down the slope on the left and out at the Cheras Awana side. The trail went along the cut-hill slope and before re-entering the jungle to exit at the in-trail.

Dipstick was FRB in 1hr 5mins while the KL 'dogs' were out at 8.30pm. It seemed they were exchanging old time stories which kept them slow.

On On onsite with capati, chicken curry and vege-fried rice.

Run: 753 Hare: Munster Venue: Cheras Awana (Wangsa)

Santa Themed HLH4 Logo About 30 hashers managed to find their way in for the run despite most of the HLH4 signs being placed down side up. Some members had to make a few rounds around the housing area before reaching the runsite.

The runsite was located beside Sunway Cheras. The weather was fine despite the heavy showers in the Klang Valley earlier in the afternoon. The run started through a construction site and then all the way up a high mountain. The track was slippery and the trail took the runners/walkers up through five hills. The home trail was out through the parking site near the restaurant frequented by the trekkers going up into the jungle.

The first FRB was out at about 7.20 pm. Hennessy, Miaw Miaw and Rocky had to be taken out in Pengsan's truck at about 9.15 pm. There were some screams and shrieks from some of those who some blood flowing down their ankles/foot.

On On onsite with chapati and a big packet of nasi lemak.

Hare: Farah Venue: Venice Hill
About 20 members managed to reach the runsite near the Venice Hill Condominium despite the lack of hash directional signs leading to it. Just before 6.00pm, the sky opened up to let loose another downpour in the Klang Valley. Members took shelter at the walkways of the unoccupied shoplots.
GM called ON ON 3 dots past six and 15 members trotted out in the rain looking for washed away trail paper. Finding some, they managed to get to the foothills at Wangsa Cheras. The many hikers taking shelter there would probably have thought that we were a crazy bunch to go up this hill in this rain at this hour.
From the base, it was just a climb up and up in the rain, stopping only to look for trail paper at forks and junctions of this well trod hiking trail, till a height of about 370 metres. From there the back pack were pleased that the not-washed away papers took them down hill. But it was not smooth going as they had to frequently stop and search for the trail paper.
Reaching the valley they would have thought they would be out of the jungle within minutes. But how mistaken they were, for the 'found' papers took them up again for another climb in the dark. Reaching up to the home trail found GM waiting for them. On the home trail the back pack could hear someone who kept shouting ON ON ON ON ON further down. Thinking it was the call of the rescuers, they shouted back that they were on track and on paper. Coming down to the stream, the 'rescuer' turned out to be Ballcracker, who could not find the paper trail out and was, correctly, waiting for the back pack.
At a quarter to nine and much to their relief, they were out of the jungle for another long road walk back to the runsite, or so they thought. But with three key office bearers, GM, On Sex (acting) and Hash Cash not out yet, a pickup came and gave the last 8 tired and wet hashers a ride home.
American Sam, Gary and Kok Pain were out jointly at 8.00pm, while Kiki was the sole middle runner who reached home 20 mins later.
On On on site - Thangga Restaurant.
