Run: 1067 Hare: Amelia Big Spender Venue: Sri Haneco Cohares: Roger ‘BloodDonor’ and Charly’s ‘Three Angels’
As I arrived at 5:40 for the last run of the year no signboard to be seen. Later I learned that Colin ‘Cowlin’ was supposed to put up the signboard, but was ‘a bit late’. (I think the run started already, before finally the signboard was placed….)
Despite the missing signboard a quite big crowd found the run site.
On-on was called and the trail led the tarmac, passing the condo towards the football field. Suddenly no more paper. The crowd pushed forward, followed on-on calls from Dipstick, knowing the area from previous runs. Too fast…obviously it was a back-check and now all had a hard time to find the connecting paper.
Finally after 10 minutes or so paper was found at bushes to the left of the open space, leading up the hill.
From there it was a constant climbing in serpentines. Soon Thomas disappeared to the left, trying his luck with his usual shortcut-method to avoid the climb. Don’t know what happened to him, myself slowly huffin’ and puffin’ up the hill and back downhill 30 minutes later I bumped into Thomas. Obviously his shortcut was not that short.
Checks were broken already by Dipstick. Following paper I reached the open area at the new factory buildings after less than an hour and enjoyed another 5 minutes easy running back to the run site.
At 7:05 CockPain finally saw the signboard, drove by to the run site and went in to run. Unfortunately he had to turn around after 20 minutes, as the first check was not connected and no signboard pointing into the direction of the connecting paper.
Plenty of tidbits, food, drinks, laughter and chit-chatting closed HLH4’s 2013 runs.
