Hare: Thangga Venue: Shooting Range Sg Jelok

The last 2 runs were run in pouring rain from begining to end while the run earlier to that, it rained midway through. But this week, the weather looked fine from early afternoon and it stayed that way to the pleasure of the 35-40 hashers who turned up for this run.
It was a one hill, one hour run with 5 checks. Has all the 5 checks being backchecks anything to do with Kiki, Munster and Guitarman being co-hares?

Hare: Kali Tan Venue: Sg Long

It was raining the whole afternoon in the Klang Valley but this did not stop about 30 members from turning up. However, on ON call, only about 20 went in for the run. The rest, well a couple had to guard the beer, two were pregnant, two were nursing injuries while for another two it must have been 'that time of the month'. One was still on a beer break (if no drink beer, then no run) and another chap just came to have some stout and find out how many would want to attend a wedding.
It was a very wet and muddy trail. The last check, a back check, allowed the stragglers to join the FRBs going up the last hill. Kiki was out first in 1hr 20 mins and the last out by 7.40pm.

Hare: Yenny 'Touch & Go' Venue: Kinrara Golf, Puchong

Touch & Go's Scarf About 30 members. Just before 6pm the skies opened up to let loose a torrential downpour. All waited in their cars. When ON ON was called, Guitarman and another went in first, then a little later, a few more members went into the secondary jungle.
About 6.30pm 6 others tried to brave the rain and went in but as the trail was so slippery, they kept falling. Roger, who had a deep gash on his palm after a fall, decided to turn back. The condition of the trail was so bad, the 6 jokers had to SCB out through thorny bushes, a pond and a stream which they had to cross by inching over some fallen branches.
Eventhough these 6 reached the home trail, Roger still managed to get himself stuck knee deep in soft soil. He was pulled out minus a shoe by Lester ABC .
The rain did not let up till the down down and circle. The red scarf, pic above left, a freebie by the hare.

About 60 odd members and guests turned up at this popular runsite. Good run with just one hill but some confusion half way through due to heavy rain. Nevertheless, all were out within good time with the 1st FRB out in 1hr 10 mins. Verdict: Good Run despite the rain.

Hare: Karu Venue: Beranang

About 30 members turned up. The trail was mainly on flats with good running paths through oil palm, rubber and a potato farm but hampered by missing, wet and torn paper. Apparently the hare, co-hared by a foreigner, laid the trail the previous evening. The showers the day before and earlier in the afternoon caused the poor paper trail.
An interesting point was the sighting of a 'python' half way up the sole 2 minute climb of the run. With all due respect to the 'python', some members made a detour while the others braved the short climb. All were out by 7.20pm.

ON On onsite with the hare's home cooked 'chapati', chicken and mutton.

Hare: Ben 'thebandit' Venue: Gasing Hill

The dark skies that threatened a fierce storm and the Chelsea/MU match could have kept some members away as only about 25 members turned up for this run. The trail led down on some clear paths and then swung left and led to a junction, where the FRBs found the paper going both directions ( it was later heard that Mount Kiara was also running here and had crossed over to this trail). They decided on the trail on the right which led up to the watch tower. From there, the papers took them down the trail to the stream.
A back check midway down and the check just before the stream slowed the FRBs but not enough for the back pack to catch up. Check broken along the stream on the left and led up onto the medal road and headed towards the kampong and another check at the junction to the watertank. This was quickly broken on the road leading to the watertank.
The papers then led into the jungle to what was thought to be the path down to leeches and for another climb up. But instead, the papers looped left and back to the metal road for this short cicular. Soon the papers were reconnected and led up to the watertank and up to the temple and back home. ABC and Munster were out in 50 mins and the rest about 15 mins later.
On ON onsite catered by Thangga.

Two-timing Hasher

Cockscrew Chin, a seasoned Kacang HHH (KH3) member, regularly visits his friend Joe Tham to persuade him to go hashing. On one such visit, Cockscrew was greeted by Joe's wife as he was not home yet. The sight of this woman in a sexy outfit turned Cockscrew on.
Joe's wife: "You like what you see"
Cockscrew: "Sure wan"
"will cost you 100 dollar"
"No poplem"
"Ok you come Flyday afternoon when my Lohkong (husband) go site visit"
So Friday afternoon, Cockscrew turned up at Joe's home. He had a good time and managed to leave just before Joe returned home.
Joe to his wife: "Did Cockscrew come by this afternoon"
Wife (surprised): "Eh why, yes, he came"
"Did he give you $100?"
The wife now stunned, hesitated and then thinking that he had found out replied: "Eh yes yes, he did give me 100 dollar"
"Good" says Joe.
...

... "Cockscrew came by my office this morning and borrowed $100 from me.
He said that he would stop by our house on his way home and pay me back."

Lazy Hasher

One Saturday afternoon, the Kacang HHH hasher had just returned home from an appointment with a prospective business client. He was tired and did not feel up to it for hashing that evening.
As he lazed about in the house, the phone rang and the hasher answered the phone.

He just listened and then said "how the heck do I know... I live 40 miles from the ocean!" and he slamed the phone down.

His wife who was sitting nearby asked what that was all about.

And the hasher replied ...

"oh some idiot wants to know if the coast is clear."

A very good turnout on this extremely hot afternoon. A good run around lakes and a golf course and with just one short climb. All were out in good time with Song Lau guiding the stragglers out around 8 pm. It was so hot that evening, the PISS allocation was all consumed in no time.
The hare finally agreed to adopt the name 'Ricky Ular (snake)'.

Occassion: Vasakhi Run Venue: Kesuma Lakes

Close to a hundred hashers turned up. A run at Kesuma Lakes has always been a runner's run, no hill climbing, no mountain hiking and no jungle trekking. Even the ones who normally SCB and the ones who usually turn back at the first check completed the run. But yet Big John nosed by the scent of T&G led two others to the road leading to Broga. They had to bribe a kind soul in a 600 cc car to give them a ride home. 1st out in 50 mins

Dirty Car

A member wrote in to say that he agrees that the car he drives for the runs is normally dirty. Further more last week's run, the road leading to the runsite at Sg Jeluk was very dirty and dusty and naturally his car got dirtier.
But that does not mean that someone should highlight how dirty his car was. He provided us with 'before' and 'after' pictures of his car and asked us for our opinion. He also asks that the persons, must be two at least, who cleaned part of his car, to clean the whole damn car.
So can both the persons who did it please own up.

Looking at the 'after' picture, it narrows down to just a few culprits who prefer this position/style.

Hare: William 'Kelamkabut' Chong Venue: Shooting Range Sg Jeluk

A good turnout of about 50 members and 7 guests. At about six, Jointmistress whispered On On to start the run. The path to the foothills gave a good warm-up to the FROP. From there, a good climb up to 210 metres. Then a short but steep downhill. Across the steam, a short climb up to 200 metres where some in the middle pack decided they had enough and followed another path home. By this time the FROP were already on their way up the freshly cleared road which led to a height of about 290 metres. From there it all the way down for a very good long home run. First out within the hour and last out by 7.40pm.

Hare: Farah Venue: Venice Hill
About 20 members managed to reach the runsite near the Venice Hill Condominium despite the lack of hash directional signs leading to it. Just before 6.00pm, the sky opened up to let loose another downpour in the Klang Valley. Members took shelter at the walkways of the unoccupied shoplots.
GM called ON ON 3 dots past six and 15 members trotted out in the rain looking for washed away trail paper. Finding some, they managed to get to the foothills at Wangsa Cheras. The many hikers taking shelter there would probably have thought that we were a crazy bunch to go up this hill in this rain at this hour.
From the base, it was just a climb up and up in the rain, stopping only to look for trail paper at forks and junctions of this well trod hiking trail, till a height of about 370 metres. From there the back pack were pleased that the not-washed away papers took them down hill. But it was not smooth going as they had to frequently stop and search for the trail paper.
Reaching the valley they would have thought they would be out of the jungle within minutes. But how mistaken they were, for the 'found' papers took them up again for another climb in the dark. Reaching up to the home trail found GM waiting for them. On the home trail the back pack could hear someone who kept shouting ON ON ON ON ON further down. Thinking it was the call of the rescuers, they shouted back that they were on track and on paper. Coming down to the stream, the 'rescuer' turned out to be Ballcracker, who could not find the paper trail out and was, correctly, waiting for the back pack.
At a quarter to nine and much to their relief, they were out of the jungle for another long road walk back to the runsite, or so they thought. But with three key office bearers, GM, On Sex (acting) and Hash Cash not out yet, a pickup came and gave the last 8 tired and wet hashers a ride home.
American Sam, Gary and Kok Pain were out jointly at 8.00pm, while Kiki was the sole middle runner who reached home 20 mins later.
