Run20130706 Bandit

Run: 1042 Hare: Bandit Venue: Bukit Kiara Cohare: Joachim

The runsite at Bulkit Kiara is a first for Hulu Langat, though a run was previously scheduled here but which had to be relocated to Bukit Gasing at the last minute due to the chikungunya outbreak.

The beerman hearing that the run was at Bukit Kiara, decided to give this run a skip for fear of the 'bukits' in this area. So when the hashers arrived, there was no beerman and no water and no beer. GM and Bulldozer had to step up and emptied the sundry shops in Sri Hartamas of their beer.

The run was mostly on well trodden trails, no difficult climbs (its bandit's run), a few stream crossings and a long long home trail on the road.

The FRB, Kenching, hit home in one hour 20 mins while the back pack was out about half an hour later. The Co-hare mentioned that he clocked 9km for the run.

The circle had to be dragged on on on on while waiting for CockPain to cook his seafood porridge during which the supply of beer also ran out. So Jack Kee was elected, as he had a new assistant, to go and get more beers, which he did.

On On onsite, seafood porridge catered by CP.

Rehashed 20120114 Bandit

Run: 965 Hare: Bandit Venue: Eco Village Hululangat Cohare: Joachim

At sharp six, JM sounded the regular call and about 30 Hashers followed him heading to a different in-trail with a slight detour to the right just after crossing the road and up the hill. We ran along some secondary jungle before the path connected to the road heading towards the houses.

Running along the road, the trail turned right. The first check was up halfway on the left was broken forward by Guitarman, and the trail took us along the stream and after going up a hill, the second check was laid by the entrance of the bungalow. This was a back check. It was uphill all the way and then downhill until the third check which was broken on the left by Sexy Showman. Running along by the fringe of the jungle, the fourth check was at the plantation and was broken by Kenching forward before the stream.

Just when the trail was a smooth downhill (with some thinking of the golden fluid waiting down the road) we saw Charlie (who came in the in-trail) directing us to the trail as there was no paper. Apparently the landlord of a farm had picked up the paper trail. We continued along and the trail was on again to the run home. A good and well thought run by the Hare and Co-hare, which is exactly how a HLH4 run should be.

Scribed by Guitarman.

Rehashed 20100605 Bandit

Run: 881 Hare: Bandit Venue: Gasing Hill Cohare: Joachim

The Hare Bandit Turnout was about 40 members and guests. The papers took the hashers down on tarmac and on into vegetation near the lower temple. The walk down under foliage canopy and on to the tarmac leading to the 1st check near the condo.

Some expected it to be broken on the steps leading up but it was broken straight on inside the thick and thorny bushes. The trail zig-zagged through the bushes to the path that led down from the water tank. From here it was a run on the well trodden path to the 2nd check just before the climb.

As Dipstick was going up, Pengsan went across on the flimsy wooden bridge and broke the check. Again another clean runners trail up to the 3rd check at abandoned house at the fringe. Abraham went pass the house and found papers but before he could call, Munster who went in the middle, hit the trail in between and called On On.

As the trail went upwards, it moved into thick undergrowth. Again it was a torturous trail that had to be bashed through thorny bushes. Coming to the top, the papers swung right and down to the 4th check. This was broken back along the top ridge which turned right into the jungle.

The papers led down all the way straight to drain where the 5th and last check was laid, which was a back check that led up for a short climb and out. Coming out to the tarmac, the papers led left and up towards the water tank for the home trail back through the temple. This appeared too short for Dipstick, Munster, Silent Dragon and Gigi Putih who turned right on the tarmac to hit the long climb back to runsite.

Abraham was FRB in 57 mins while Dipstick came out the other way about 10 mins later.

On On onsite - Lynda (formerly Hassan) catering. Naughty Stick and Ee Gal from the Batu Hash were on hand to invite and promote their pre-amble to Interhash 2010 on 30/06/2010.

Next Run: No 882 Date: 12/06/2010 Hare: Volunteer (Song Lau) Venue: Kesuma Lakes

(From Semenyih, drive straight on towards Beranang/Seremban. Kesuma Lakes is on the left after Tesco Turn in and go straight to the end following all HLH4 signs.

Note that, as this will be a volunteer run, we will go dutch for the On On. No, it does not mean Dutch cuisine. It means Tong-Tong which does not necessarily mean Chinese food either

Rehashed 20081025

Run: 797 Hare: Bandit Venue: Bukit Gasing Co-hare: Samerican

The hare Bandit Run started on time even though there were a few who just arrived and were putting on their shoes. There were 7 guests who showed up in support of the hare and 'runsite near where i live' hashers.

It was usual that Cock Pain led the pack through the Hindu temple on top of the hill and down hill at the back. The papers led down and then turned left uphill where the 1st check was laid. This was a backcheck and broken way down.

The trail led on flats along the fringe of the jungle/rubber and to the 2nd check. The papers leading straight on led to a falsie. It was finally broken, a back check that led to some confusion and unheard ON ON calls. The back pack was about to turn back but somehow managed to connect to the true trail which led to a long and almost steep climb that ended at the top of the hill.

The 3rd check was laid on the right and which was broken on the left along the connecting ridge before going down a medium steep slope. It was later realised that everyone had to do a short steep climb leading to the 4th check just before the tarred road.

Rather suprisingly, JPS managed to get to be in front of the back pack.

It was then a paperless run downhill till the junction. where Warrenti and Randy Andy were taken for a 'ride' on a falsie to the right. Experienced Blood Donor, with the back pack tagging along, took the wiser option of turning left at the junction.

There were no papers on trail till quite some distance until No Hair found them and the trail turned right and into the jungle. It then led downhill to meet up with the stream. From then on it was a slow walk uphill to the run site, with some cursing and gasping for fresh air.

All were out in good time with the FRBs finishing in about 1hr 10mins. However, none of these FRBs, Gary, ABC, Cock Pain, Kelam Kabut and Warrenti, owned up to be the 1st out on paper.

Circle was a bit 'pasar malam' as the box was looking for the culprit who did not connect paper correctly which caused the 5 FRBs having a 'verbal push about' among themselves.

The hare was iced for not laying HLH4 papers all the way and using a triangular cut 'HLH5' paper. Song Lau was iced for 'not correctly teaching his student bard' Peter.

Guitarman was iced for asking the run number of the Deepavali run when he knew the following run, Viagra's, was #800 and was a week later [800-1=799, also dunno]. No Hair for not making a charge sternly as taught by Randy Andy the mystery whip.

Song Lau announced that the Broga temple committee has banned hashers from parking/running in that area. This, as a result of some undisciplined and irresponsible members of some hash chapters running there who walk around/shower naked or wearing just underwear only. Littering and leaving behind beer bottles\cans, food containers after the On On was also a cause. Hashers who damage fruit trees of the many orchards found in that area are a bane to the farmers.
A large banner targeting the hashers have been put up. It was also heard that the Broga temple/residents have enlisted the help of the police to enforce the ban.
This is the second area in recent times, after Sunway Semenyih, where the hashers have been banned from.

Next Run: No 798 Date: 01/11/2008 Hare: Karu Venue: Beranang Industrial Estate. (Drive to Semenyih town. From traffic lights near police station, drive towards Mantin/Seremban and count trafiic lights. At 5th traffic lights, turn right and drive about 1.5km. Look out HLH4 signs)

Hare: Ben 'thebandit' Venue: Gasing Hill

The dark skies that threatened a fierce storm and the Chelsea/MU match could have kept some members away as only about 25 members turned up for this run. The trail led down on some clear paths and then swung left and led to a junction, where the FRBs found the paper going both directions ( it was later heard that Mount Kiara was also running here and had crossed over to this trail). They decided on the trail on the right which led up to the watch tower. From there, the papers took them down the trail to the stream.
A back check midway down and the check just before the stream slowed the FRBs but not enough for the back pack to catch up. Check broken along the stream on the left and led up onto the medal road and headed towards the kampong and another check at the junction to the watertank. This was quickly broken on the road leading to the watertank.
The papers then led into the jungle to what was thought to be the path down to leeches and for another climb up. But instead, the papers looped left and back to the metal road for this short cicular. Soon the papers were reconnected and led up to the watertank and up to the temple and back home. ABC and Munster were out in 50 mins and the rest about 15 mins later.
On ON onsite catered by Thangga.

Next Run: 723 Date: 26/05/2007 Hare: Karu Venue: Beranang ( just at or after Kesuma Lakes, look for HLH4 signs, most probably on the right if coming from Kajang/Semenyih)
