Rehashed 20120317 SleepWalker

Run: 974 Hare: Alice Sleep Walker Venue: Sg Long Cohares: Silent Dragon, Joachim

(just came 290392012)

The sun was shining when getting into the runsite, however, the runsite was wet. A small turnout and no usual check breakers when OnOn was called just past six by JPS.

The usual in-trail where you had hoist yourself up from the tarmac, walk along the terrace before the first usual climb. Before reaching the top, a check which, after nearly twenty three mins of "R U"s and "Checking"s, nearly ended in checkmate until someone called On On.

Getting on to the paper trail, it meandered up to the hilltop where the papers stopped abruptly. A falsie? So fast? (it was learnt later that the falsie, the runners had hit, was the falsie of the 2nd check). Soon On call was heard and the few runners hit the trail down the hill, which turned out to be more difficult than the climb.

Coming out from under canopy, Chickadee and Blood Donor, stopped to admire the view but actually looking for the shortcut out. The paper now led on the just cut, muddy laterite road and it kept going up and up, much to chagrin of Bandit. Meanwhile SK, Pengsan, Miaw Miaw, Khoo Kongsi and Gigi Putih made good haste to be FROPs.

Getting off the muddy road, the trail took a sharp turn into the jungle, where it went up and then down for a shallow stream crossing and on to the another just cut muddy road. Soon the papers went under canopy again and then coming out, to hit a near shoulder height bracken covered trail which also led upwards. By now, SK, Pengsan and Gigi Putih had gone much ahead leaving chit chatting Miaw Miaw and the one who wants to be known 'Leng Chai'.

From the top, the trail downward was a bash through some thick undergrowth. Getting to civilization was a ten foot vertical drop near the just completed housing where the 'Leng Chai' nearly had a 'pangsai' when he landed on his back from about five feet high. The home trail was a nineteen minute walk on tarmac to home. Late going in Cock Pain and XL soon caught up with the back pack and completed together.

It appeared 'not my standard' for just came in time Long John Silver, Buaya and ABC to do a walk up on just the tarmac instead of going in for the run. They went looking for property for sale in the long abandoned 'Kenny Hill' style project.

FROP was in about 1hr 8mins while the last out at about 7.30pm. KFC and Heny followed Blood Donor and Chickadee on their short cut.

On On onsite, the hare's home cooked offering.

Rehashed 20100821 Elsi

Run: 892 Hare: Elsie Venue: Sg Long Co-hares: No Hair, Yee Mai

The hare Elsi

The beautiful evening as the hashers gathered for the run was probably a reflection of the hare's warm personality.

The run started with an immediate climb at the quarry site without any warm up. A few more climbs were thrown in before a tricky climb in a shiggy.

The last climb took the hashers close to the out trail just before the last loop for home. But only 3 accepted the invitation to SCB, reaching home around 7.30pm. The FROP hit home in about 1hr 10mins while the back pack inspired by KFC came out just before 8pm.

The hare, Elsie, is known to always encourage the other harriets on the run. She would usually say to the hashers behind the slow harriets "Push her". For this, she was honored with a new name "Pusher", shortened for convenience.

Elsie's generous habit of handing out (though some would prefer to term it 'pushing', as in drugs) cigars, cigarettes and chocs after each of her overseas trips would be just a coincidence. Or is it?

Three new boots were welcomed, one of whom was also hash-named "Suck it". This could be due, probably, to him being 'sakit' while holding the Tool of Office.

An ice cream cake was 'baked' on Interhash OnSec, Cowlin's, head in remembrance of his birth date. And he was in his birthday suit, ... oh almost, thank goodness.

On On onsite, Bulldozer creations.

Rehashed 20091212 Juicy Jessie

Run: 856 Hare: Juicy Jessie Venue: Sg Long Cohares: No Hair, Silent Dragon, Munster

The hare Juicy wearing her shorts backwards Small group of about 25 members. There was some hesitation by Joint Mistress to start the run a few minutes early.

The papers led up the road and before the hashers could have a proper warm-up, it turned right into the canopy for the 1st of the 5 or more climbs of the run.

The trails were mostly on less used and shrubs covered paths. Some trails had to be bashed through.

The back pack led by Chickadee had it enough at the fourth check and short-cutted back to runsite arriving just past seven.

FRB, Dipstick was out in about 1hr 20mins and the rest a short while later.

On On onsite.

It had to be pointed out to the hare that she had her shorts (or midi) on backwards.

Rehashed 20091003 No Hair

Run: 846 Hare: No Hair Venue: Sg Long (Admiral Park) Cohare: Yee Mai

The hare, No Hair A good number, including about 12 guests, turned up at this long not used runsite. On On called by Jointmaster and all went in down to the ankle deep stream. The papers led across the stream, up and left.

The trail kept going and going without any checks until the papers stopped suddenly. Checking further up, the FROPs found papers leading both to the left and to the right. The trail to the right led to a check up the hill while the papers to the left went down the slippery slope.

When the back pack got to this point, it was 6.45pm and the FROPs were still deciding where to go. Someone, must be a guest, then made a **call** to the hare to confirm the route. It was then known that we had gone in on the out (home) trail.

Got screwed at 'first' check Some decided to continue as a reverse run going down the slope on the left while the back pack felt they had enough and turned back on the trail they came in.

Mr Kilat and some friends who came in late, went in on the correct in-trail up to the 2nd check before turning back.

The FRB was out (though in reverse and no checks to break) about 7.10pm and the back pack reached home about 20mins later.

To know how the run should have been, check out the hare's diary

New boots Kumar and Kim Korean Kim (right) and Kumar (left), a non skin-head from Dengkil, were welcomed as new boots.

As Kim already had a hash name 'No Wing', a name he was assigned by his Korean friends when he fell ill after consuming chicken wings, 'Thuksudi' which means eagle in the Korean language was added on. Hence, Kim will be known as 'Thuksudi No Wing'.

Kumar was baptised 'PJK' which may stand for 'Peria Jarthi Kotai' (big type balls). Hash Name assigning ceremonies were officiated by Song Lau.

Run: 763 Scheduled Hare: Guat Ling Venue: Sg Long SubCons: Kiki, Abrahim, Rattail

Vote for Hulu Langat H4 The Heritage House run and a few 12th General Election ceramahs (rallies) affected the attendance at this run. So only about 15-20 went in for the run.

The SubCons laid the trail in some unfamiliar territory. So, with the regular FRBs missing, the small group took some time to break 4 checks, which were all back checks. At the last and 5th check, someone in the pack had to call the subCons for directions to get out.

They were out at around 8.30pm. 69 years old Rocky was out at 9.45pm, fuming and cursing.

The circle was kept short due the small crowd and to allow some to go and pay respects to Pengsan's mum who had passed on.

Rehashed 20071229

Run: 754 Hare: Amelia Ng Venue: Sg Long Co-hare: Abraham

Santa Themed HLH4 Logo Update 04/01/08: Correspondent had sobbered up.

Only about 20+ hashers turned up for the run as some members preferred to wine, dine and dance with Seremban HHH at their D&D do.

The usual bungalow runsite was "occupied" by Kepong Hash, so we had to camp at the entrance to the construction site just before the usual runsite.

The run started on the tar road to avoid the Kepong hash paper on the right up the hill. There was a falsie for the first check on the left of the tar road, but Kelamkabut, true to his nature, managed to break this check on the trail that led from the 2nd check on the right. The 2nd check was missed altogether. The 3rd check was up the slope of the rubber plantation. Everyone expected it to be broken on the top of the hill but it turned out to be on the left near a stream.

The 4th check was across a shallow river and the track took the runners all the way to the bungalow site opposite the Sg Long Golf Club then all the way on the road pass the quarry and construction site to the runsite. The 1st runner out at about 7.20pm.

Many members complained about the long road run and the hare was iced for that. The sub-contractor "Abrahim" was also put on ice for setting a run without going up any hill, not his usual trade mark.

There was a surprise guest "Albert" who came all the way from Segambut to join us. He called a member indicating his desire to run with us and obtained directions to the runsite.

Dr Ballcracker was appointed the OC for our coming CNY run. (RG)

(Previous Post: It appears our onsite web correspondent is still recovering from the festivities of welcoming of the new year and had not sobbered to write the scribe. So there is no report of the run proper.

However, our HashFlash was around to capture for posterity the ongoings of the circle.

Run: 750 Hare: Alice 'Bumble Bee' Chua Venue: Sg Long Sub-cons: Abraham and Roger

Our Harriets going in

Only about 20-25 members turned up for this run at Sg Long, a place which seem to be competing for popularity with Bandar Tech.

The trail took the usual path on the right through the rubber reaching the 1st check rather quickly. This was broken way up the hill on the left. Climbing for some ten minutes brought the back pack to a clearing on the hilltop and the 2nd check. But where's the connecting trail? Not connected!!! Waranti and Farah went further up looking for paper while Charlie tried connecting the trail which was finally found on the right.

Another short climb and then looped down. The trail just played around this hill ending at the new housing construction site for a long dusty road home trail. The FRBs were out within the hour and the pack back led by Charlie out at around 7.30pm, somewhat at the same time as those who chickened out and had backtracked.

On On onsite with food prepared by the hare.

Hare: Susie Phang Venue: Sg Long

Hare at the start The last run here was run in the rain and this time it was expected to be the same as the rain was playing havoc in the Klang valley the whole afternoon. But surprisingly, it stayed fine throughout the run and the ON ON.

The runs at Sg Long are always up down up down, From the road, the paper trail led Going up 1st hillinto the rubber and down to the ravine to give the hashers a good longer warm up climb of the 1st hill. But about 4 FRBs, instead of following the trail down to the ravine, climbed up straight to the 1st check.

From there, the paper took the pack to the right and to the 2nd check. But while the FRBs managed to break this check quite quickly, the trail was not properly connected. This led to the others going on a wild goose chase on a dead trail. Dead end
Apparently the sub-con hares could not bash through the thick undergrowth up the hill and decided to turn back and climb another trail to lay the 3rd check. However, they failed to appropriately disconnect the dead trail.

Nevertheless. all were out in good time to receive a pack of shower gel, courtesy of the scheduled hare.
On On onsite - supposedly bicycleman stuff.

Hare: Kali Tan Venue: Sg Long

It was raining the whole afternoon in the Klang Valley but this did not stop about 30 members from turning up. However, on ON call, only about 20 went in for the run. The rest, well a couple had to guard the beer, two were pregnant, two were nursing injuries while for another two it must have been 'that time of the month'. One was still on a beer break (if no drink beer, then no run) and another chap just came to have some stout and find out how many would want to attend a wedding.
It was a very wet and muddy trail. The last check, a back check, allowed the stragglers to join the FRBs going up the last hill. Kiki was out first in 1hr 20 mins and the last out by 7.40pm.

Run 690 Hare: Lee Geok Leng Venue: Sg Long

It was a very hot but haze free afternoon when the 30 odd hashers gathered for this run. On On sounded and it was a slow walk up the metal road and on into the rubber on the right. The trail then led down to the valley to give the walkers a good steep climb up the 1st hill. Reaching the height of 175 metres, the paper took the runners down some 40 metres on the other side to the 1st check. This was quickly broken on the right and into some thick and thorny belukar for a crawl up a gentle slope. From the belukar and out into the clearing, the papers led to the 2nd check. This was also broken on the right and trail meandered to the next hill. Though this slope up was gentle, it was a long climb to the top which was at a height of about 230 metres. From the top, the papers led gently down the motorbike path and to the 3rd check at the stream. On On was called on the left and up on another motorbike track. It was easy running/walking up this concrete path until midway where the trail branched sharply to the left for another steep climb to a height of about 210 metres. From the top, the papers led out to metal road for the home run. All runners coming down this metal road were justly rewarded with a magnificient view of the sunset and lights of the Sg Long township on this clear haze free evening.

On On on site catered by Thangga.
