Run: 1103 Hare: Aru Venue: Sunway Semenyih Cohares: Munster, Guitarman

There was a last minute change and Aru graciously agreed to set this run at the dusty runsite at Sunway Semenyih.

Again the Temerloh celebration run pulled some of the regulars away. So at the start of this run there were only about twenty going in through the usual in-trail which turned right just before the flats.

The papers winded down to the stream where the first check was laid. Though there were some senior experienced hashers, Dipstick, SK, Joachim, leading the way, it took about 15-20 mins to break this check about 50 metres from the checkpoint.

From here the trail went up and down, keeping in sight the high tension wires on the left. After the turn, the trail went past the three ponds which each had a different coloured water.

The long home trail was all on road through the usual out trail pass the flats. The last out in 1hr 45mins.

New boot Sharon and rejoined Mary, were welcomed.

On On at the restaurant nearby which was three tables affair.

Directions: GPS - N3 8.587; E101 38.013
1. Take Jalan Damansara towards Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI).
2. When you come to the toll (Sprint Highway), take the toll plaza on the left towards TTDI.
3. After paying the RM1 toll, drive towards TTDI and turn right at the 2nd traffic light into Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad. You will see Pizza Hut on your right.
4. Drive straight along this road, with shops on both sides, passing 2 sets of traffic lights. You will see VADS Building (former IBM Tower) further down the road, on your right.
5. Drive straight on to the end of the road, Trellises apartment is on your left and Kiara Green on your right.
6. Turn left into Changkat Abang Haji Openg.
7. Site is up small driveway on left (look out for HLH4 signs here) after approximately 200m.

The hashers were gathering around, chatting and a bit reluctant to start the run. So it was about 6:05 until the first runner could be seen following the paper along the usual in-trail. Before the condos the trail went to the right down to the Palm area. After balancing to cross the small drain the first check was quickly broken further to the right. From there it was some nice trailing through the Palm area until a check with a falsie near the sand digging area could not be connected.

It took about 20 minutes until paper could be found again, which was the out-trail already. After one more uphill stretch it was easy running all the way to the condo area near the runsite.

Later at the circle the hare stated there was no falsie and blamed the co-hares of not dropping paper……

Whatever, it was a good run, everybody in a good mood and plenty of beer to finish up.

At six, the newly elected Joint Mistress was asking where is the on paper. Being a newbee, she was directed to the on paper and the ON ON was called. We followed the usual trail with about 30 hashers following the trail and came to a first check at the OP. there was falsie and the check was broken forward right.

Running along the plantation with some slight climb, we arrived at the 2nd check which was broken by the FRB’s and this was a forward check too. Then as we were arriving at the 3rd check, we were all at a T-junction when we saw the FRB’s SK, Cock Pain checking forward. Actually the check was almost 1000 yards away and when they heard the call, they thought it was cutting left and decided to check.

Finally the on trail was further up towards the quarry road and it was a long and hard track home through the quarry, into the factories and from the entrance of the Sunway Semenyih housing estate.

The Joint Mistress requested Guitarman to conduct the circle in the absence of all the new elected office bearers. After the usual rituals, Guitarman explained that he heard the news that the newly elected committee had gone missing overseas and cannot be traced. He asked the members to elect a shadow committee in order for the club to be functioning until the committee is discovered.

All members unanimously agreed and the election was called for the office bearers. Those elected as the pro-tem committee were as follow:

Guitarman back on the box advised all members that the elected committee will perform the duties on all club matters until the missing overseas members are found.

The circle ended at about 9.30 and the ON ON was at the nearby restaurant. A big hand to the Hare Cha Cha for a wonderful run and a good On On.

The weather was fine when about 30 hashers gathered at the dusty runsite by the temple. The 'in' was a long walk along the dusty, smelly road before turning right near the old rusnite and into the oil palm.

The trail went right as the paper led up the hill and then going down too, it kept right. With the few checks thrown being broken quite fast, the trail led up close to Sri Haneco where the check and falsie screwed up the front runners.

Cock Pain blamed KenChing and everyone else and, everyone else blamed Cock Pain who then decided to DiY himself back to runsite arriving at about 7.30pm. Joachim, Buaya and the others managed to break the check and followed the papers for the long long long way home.

Buaya was FRB on paper, reaching home in about 1hr 50mins, followed a few seconds behind by Baby Kangaroo who was given a sudden extra boost of power by some foreigners on the home stretch. The others then slowly trickled out with Short Circuit and friend being last.

Karu did his own run. Another group led by JPS did another run. Another 9 member group led by the Adviser followed their own trail. Guitarman decided to sit still.

Triple On was at Reject's place to rejoice for his and May's little bundle of joy.

Quite a number turned up for the run.

Runsite was on the dusty road near the temple as access to the old site was blocked. The trail went along the hot, dusty rubbish dumped road and through the former parking area up to the apartments and the first check. A back check took the runners under canopy for the much needed shade.

The paper trail led mainly through the oil palms with checks spaced out for a runners' run till the last "supposed to be check" but which had the paper connected from the check leading up the only hill claim of the run.

Dipstick was FRB in about 1 hr 10 followed by the others fairly soon after.

Bandit, who came late, went in the out-trail, climbed the last hill, met the mid pack and climbed the hill again, probably to show off his new shoes. As many had not noticed his new shoes, he demanded for an On Down for the new shoes.

A few members left soon after the run but there were still enough hashers savour the home cooked Rejected Chicken white soup at the On On onsite.

We parked by the laterite road outside the Chinese temple; the run started with JPS leading towards the wrong way while Gigi Putih got on paper and led to another way while off paper! We finally got on paper and it led towards the main road and towards the flats. We get on the usual rocky road downhill into the OP and climbed the long offtrack uphill towards the back of the quarry.

A check on top was broken on the left side heading downhill till the quarry road that we turned right for a slight uphill to reach the kongsi; we trudded on to the left from the hill towards a waiting steep climb on the opposite hill; we didn’t get to the top as the trail veered right again to a steep and dangerous downhill.

We got almost halfway down that the paper led towards the highly heaped earth mound between the 2 hills; it was a long bushy climb that we got in the quarry at the top of the hill; a short downhill and another right turn had us climbing the steep side of the highest hill for a loop round the hilltop for a circular check.

It was an easy forward run towards the other hill on the ridges towards the clearcut hilltop but we were treated a falsie that was easily ran through with a small back check uphill; we got on the long downhill trail till we reached the OP for the zig-zagging running trails.

It seemed that the hare and co-hare had other ideas when reaching the orchard, instead of a right turn, they took a left that led the whole pack on a long trail home in the dark!; it was a long up and down hill run in the OP crossing underneath the high tension cables twice before the final stretch on a laterite track that we got back with Email limping on a slight sprained ankle from half way at 8:35pm!

We heard the FROP was in at 7:55pm!

Good turn out at this 'now coming back to use' runsite.

The papers led along the usual in-trail and up the 'bukit besi' where usually the check is laid. The papers led right and down to the quarry road and went across to hit the durian/fruits orchard.

The trial went on straight and up and into another orchard before going the high tension wires for a big loop and a final climb before hitting the home trail back to runsite.

Dipstick was FRB in 1hr 10mins while UI and bandit came out at around 7.45pm. It was acknowledged as a good run despite the hare having a non-hasher as co hare.

Our last run here in Sunway Semenyih was hared by Blood Donor some three months short of three years ago, on 02/06/2007. Getting to the runsite, one had to turn right just before the guardhouse onto the dirt road and drive up and park just behind the dwelling flats.

On OnOn, the papers led past the flats through the familiar parking area of earlier runs here and into the usual in-trail. With the blazing sun in our eyes, the hashers trecked up the black top rocky hill where the 1st check was laid.

This check was broken across in the oil palm for the descend down to the quarry. The papers led on the quarry road, keeping right and into oil palm for another check. This was broken on the right going up and ended in a falsie. Going further up, the papers was found but this too led to another falsie.

The FRBs could not be seen nor heard so the back walkers together with some late comers decided to go down to "Kelam Kabut called OnOn back there" as said by Winnie.

Down on the flats, our advisor leading some harriets was heard to say "Ok, follow us or follow me can go back. The papers down there." ABC hit the papers and then Dipstick came from down the left and said "WTF, four falsies".

So the remaining hashers decided to follow the road Song Lau took and soon after hit the home trail, arriving back at runsite around 7.20pm. But beer not broken ... first runner on paper not out yet. Finally, about 10 mins later and to the relief of the thirsty hashers, Pengsan and Kelam Kabut were out.

About 60 odd members and guests turned up at this popular runsite. Good run with just one hill but some confusion half way through due to heavy rain. Nevertheless, all were out within good time with the 1st FRB out in 1hr 10 mins. Verdict: Good Run despite the rain.

About 50 members turned up for this very well set run which was devoid of the usual "up down, up down" of the hills found in this area. A slippery trail with about 4 to 5 stream crossings (same stream though) and ending with a gentle climb. On On on site with food cooked and dished out by the hare's better half.
