Rehashed 20100116 Ballcracker

Run: 861 Hare: Ballcracker Venue: Pangsun Cohares: Ballcracker's two juniors

Hare Ballcracker On Down This time the runsite was kacang putih lah when comes to watching out for HLH4 as there are myriad of other signboards along Jalan Hulu Langat 28km stretch.

Run started with a slow incline up to the dilapidated Pangsoon Resort ala Malaysian 5star longhouse. A backcheck confusion marred the first check with late comers joining in the 15 minute fray.

GM King Kong and Long John searched in different directions. Yours truly went down to the waterfall and we had Michael with our Hash dog enjoying the cool evening sky on the boulder.

Suggestion from guest Dennis, who acted as a voluntary sweeper, that we staple the trail papers on the hanging leaves to prevent the locals from diverting the trail.

With first check down the bamboo undergrowth and along a broken trail with fallen tree trunks, we hit second check down at the picturesque lake edge.....but alas FROP were in for another back check which was easily broken by Kelam Kabut. Caught on this was Lester ABC and Cat while Blood donor and shopping queen tagged along.

Running by the lake we noticed JPS asking Charlie and Amelia to post for photos but to their dismay there was no camera on the run.

Heavenly seat for:
Kelam Kabut - Kay Poh Chee (telling GM what to do)
Wet Dream (guest) - cross leg to protect his balls
Moon aka Yuet Liang (2 time guest) - forgot to bring t-shirt.
Ricky Ular - bipolar disorder singing.
Shopping Queen - M.I.H missing in hash.
On the way - guest no t-shirt.

Interhash news was on next week's Damansara H3's celebration run and for those who have not paid up, please do so on 23 Jan.

Those going to Lombok to prepare payment to Cowlin and list of damages to come out in a couple of week time. On Cash, Silent Dragon honoured Kilat for the overly prompt payment.

Food prepared by GM and Bulldozer with fish, mutton, chicken curry and vege to down with.

Run: 788 Hare: Ballcracker Venue: Pangsoon Co-hares: Leong Sr, ...

The Hare being On Downed An invitational run at Malacca, the unfavourable weather and probably the long distance to Pangsoon robbed this run of a good turnout.

It was still drizzling when On On was called. The 12 odd hashers who started the run followed the paper trail which took the same route as the Hare's last run here. Many may remember the Hare's last run here was screwed up with all runners returning to the runsite after the 1st check.

Ballcracker, having learnt his lesson, pulled the runners along the same pipe line and laid his 1st check further up on to the left. This was broken down on the right where the papers cut across to the Gunong Nuang trail.

Reaching the Gunong track, the FROPs were invited for another short climb up to the 2nd check. This was a backcheck and led down which looked like back to home. But just before reaching the buildings, the papers swung left into the jungle for a long trek.

The check by the dam waters Coming out at the dam, the papers led left to check, an obvious backcheck intended to allow the backpack to catch up with FROPs. The papers then led on semi-tarred track right up to the waters of the dam. Another obvious check intended for the hashers to catch their breath while taking in the magnificient view.

The papers then led straight forward to the last check by the dam. This took a awhile to break, it being a very far behind backcheck. The home trail was on tarred road and led back into the jungle for the crossover to the runsite. The clever thinking but not as a hasher, the hare hung some battery operated blinking lights to guide the way through the pitc dark jungle.

Hare: Ballcracker Venue: Pangsoon Hulu Langat
The paper led the runners 1st down along the stream, then onto some thick undergrowth, then onto the road and up the track along the pipeline. The papers led uphill to a height of about 310 metres before it looped back to the in trail which was incorrectly presumed to be also the home trail. It was a 40 min run but where was the hare?
Much to the relief of the beer thirsty hashers, Ballcracker and his 3 co-hares came out at about 7.30pm, looking all wet and exhausted. It seemed the hare could not find the trail near the abandoned building that linked to the Gunong Nuang track. So he had backtracked on the in trail and crossed over to another trail that led past the dam which would have given the runners a scenic homerun. GM commented that he travelled some 32 km to do a 4km run.
All guests were sponsored by the hare. On On onsite catered by Kok Pain.

Run No 688 Hare: Cat Venue: Pangsun
The heavy downpour that caused some flash floods in the Klang Valley earlier in the afternoon did not deter the 50 odd HLH4 members from turning up for this run. ON ON sounded on time and the trail led gently up the eroded FWD track that leads to Gunung Nuang. While H5 were struggling up, the FROP came to the 1st check which was about half way to the Nuang base camp. It was a back check to the left and the slippery trail led to the TNB site. From there the paper took the runners up to the stream where another check was laid. The two falsies and another back check kept the runners, minus H5, together. From then on it was a road run all the way home.
The hare had a few surprises for this 4km run. The first out on paper, the 7th runner and some others in between who picked up some litter left purposely by the hare received gifts. Even the last runner received a handsome prize, a well stocked First Aid Kit. Well the others were quite satisfied with their little blood donation to the hungry leeches.
ON ON on site catered by Hassan.
