Run: 903 Hare: Gary Leong Venue: Shooting Range Sg Jelok SubCon Hares: Lester ABC, Chong Kok Man

Lester ABC who was roped in to set the run, once again volunteered to be a live hare. Going in together with Chong Kok Man, they had a fifteen minute head start.

At sharp 6, the runners were let loose. The trail took the right at the fork which led to a very early check. It was a back check to slow down the FROPS. Then came the long and arduous first climb. From the top the papers led down the other side, passed the 'Hut' and went up for a short circular which took the back pack for a ride as it was not disconnected.

After that the front pack was 'lost' as they could not be seen or even heard as they continued the chase to catch the hare. The back pack meanwhile kept pace with the slowest walker until just after the U turn where a climb awaited.

As darkness fell, the climb took its toll on our harriet who had rejoined our kennel after undergoing a major op and before having fully recuperated. With BloodDonor and Ah Hooi keeping company and encouraging her, she slowly descended.

As they were coming down, they saw below what looked like a rescue party but on reaching them or rather the rescue party coming up, the rescue party turned out to be a search party instead.

Apparently, two guests had some cow sense to off paper but then found some common sense to call for help. But before help reached, they somehow or rather managed to get back on paper and was descending when the search party reached them

By 8.30pm all were out. The FROP was out in 55 mins, just 5 mins after the hares.

On On at Viagra cafe where the scheduled hare of the day was opening a food stall.

Run: 827 Hare: Gary Venue: Mahkota Cheras Cohare: Silent Dragon, No Hair

The Hare Gary (A detailed scribe of the run not available, however, the following is an indication of the trail as provided by one of the co-hares)

On the road towards the only hill for about 15mins till the water tank and to the left of it to go round the back to go up hill. Just after a short climb, the trail goes downhill till a sand quarry where some could short cut back on road; those going forward will then have to cross a small river and going further, a steep uphill for about 5mins before the downhill.

Crossing some swampy grassy land to meet up with another small gradient hill climb before the long home trial via road through orchards, bungalow lots and the single storey housing estate.

The SCBs aka HLH5 were back in less than an hour while the FROP took about 1hr25mins. The last out at around 2030hrs.

After run food with bananas and nasi lemak.

Run: 755 Hare: Gary Leong Venue: Sri Hanikoh

The runsite was near the fishing pond after the Hanikoh shophouses on the left but some members missed the HLH4 sign indicating the turn and ended at another fishing pond.

About 30+ members and guests turned up. The weather was unkind and rained throughout the evening. The run started with the same route as the X'mas run climbing up the hill.

Half-way up the hill a number of the walkers took the easy way and SCBed. Also on the way up the hill, Dr Ballcracker headbutted a fallen tree trunk. Luckily it was not serious with just an added "bungalow" on his head.

After the 1st hill, instead of taking the runners down and back to the run site as the x'mas run, the hare took the hashers to another 2 hills. The trail then detoured to Sg Lallang Industrial area before turning back to the run site.

It was raining through out and only about 10 hashers completed the run.

The circle, called immediately after the last runner "Albert", our last week's guest and the sweeper were out, was conducted in the rain.

On-On at Wai Koh restaurant in Sg. Chua. (RG)

Next Run: No 756 Date: 12/01/2008 Hare: Ganesan Bulldozer Venue: Salak Tinggi
(From UKM, head to the Bangi/Dengkil road which leads towards the Bukit Unggul Golf. From the Bukit Unggul Golf junction, turn into Salak Tinggi. Drive about 5km and look for HLH4 signs on the right.)

Runsite - Batu 14 Hulu Langat towards Sg Tekali. A new runsite so much many overshot the site entrance. On On sounded on time by GM. The trail took us through the 'kampong' and on into the rubber and the 1st check which was quickly broken.
Moving on mostly clear well trod tracks so much so Robert Beh was heard commenting, "Where got hill?" and about this being his last run before he goes on a sabatical for the EPL. Turning a corner we reached a small hill, and Robert Beh went "Oh F*** HILL", the hilltop of which was only about 110 metres high.
The trail then took the runners to next hill which if Robert Beh had reached, he would have definitely gone "OH F*** F*** F*** mountain". The paper trailled up to a height of about 250 metres before leading down. Reaching flats, many would have thought that home was just another short hop skip and jump, given that the run thus far had gone about 5 km.
How all were mistaken, cause, it was another 3.5 km to home through the rubber, over a rickerty bridge, the hop or skip or jump over the streamand back up the small hill and on into the in-trail back home. It was an exhausting but a good 'Runners' run'.
Gary Leong, the hare, said the 1st runner on paper was out in 1hr 29 min.
