Run: 786 Hare: Kiki Venue: Shooting Range Sg Jelok Co-hares: ...

The hare Kiki Arrived late for the run but went in with Stanley (who was late, too). The in-trail was on the road heading out to the hill just next to the highway.

After a short climb past some cleared land for vegie farming, the trail led into some bushes. It was up and down a few times on the same side of the hill. It then led back towards the in-trail direction atop the hill where a check was found.

This check was broken but connected to 2 trails, one of which led straight downhill where Showtime and I failed to find paper. But instead met up with Tsunami and Jessie, who "were there for quite some time but find no connecting paper."

So they together with 'Uncle' Ular, Warrenti, Farah and Amelia went further down where they found some paper but it led to a dead end. There was another group here, and Blood Donor was calling to the whole lost group down to a clearing along the broken old tarred road.

Another group were Song Lau, Henny, Bumble Bee, and U-I. Song Lau then said "we are so near the highway! let's go back by the fence", so the group went.

Upon reaching the run site, the FROP were just back and the rest trickled in.

Some conversations heard: "yes, all checks were connected."
"I called out and you came, you connected the paper right?"
"where got? you see, they came back this way also!"
"aiyo, where can go wrong? just back check and you can find the paper already!"
"I found and connected the last check!"
"easy only, open your eyes lah! just right there only mah!"

Thus, were the discussions of where, when and broken. nevertheless, but no one mentioned about paper not being picked up to disconnect an incorrect trail given after all the tricks the hare had played.

That was why the back pack got mislead. Not all trails were connected properly, papers not picked up, calls were made but unheard, etc....

some of those ICED Circle started early with OnSex on box, many were iced. Then Song Lau took the box to ice some more. (forgot what charges and who). Uncle Ular was iced most for being 'kpc' and for the non-laughable jokes.

OnSex announced, "important, hope to have all members on the next run, next run is not called 'AGM' as there will not be a meeting of sort but will just be named 'Election Run' for electing coming year's 'Mismanagement'".

T-shirt worn incorrectly On-On on site. Later, a 2nd circle by the beer wagon with more beers (1 crate sponsored by guitarman) and many laughs with the 'leftovers' sharing jokes.

The session ended without song or dance but with stomach cramps (due excessive laughing) at around 12:30am. (courtesy of NoHair)

Run: 785 Hare: Blood Donor Venue: Taman Petaling Bukit Gasing SubCons: KL Dalmatians

There were no HLH4 directional signs to show the way to the runsite. Yet more that 40 members turned up at the car park in Taman Petaling Square.

Then there were no HLH4 run trail papers, yet about 30 members mamaged to follow the paw marks of the KL Dalmatians.

The trail went up past the Hindu temple and water tank which entailed a 'Batu Caves' like climb. Some downs and ups and coming up and through the tower site. The home run was all down on tarmac road going along Jalan Gasing and back.

Dipstick was FRB in about 1hr 20mins. The back pack was out at about 8pm.

A joint circle was held comprising HLH4, KL Dalmations and Hartamas HHH. On On at a restaurant fronting the runsite.

Run: 784 Hare: Jessie Teh Venue: Bukit Hatamas Cheras Awana SubCons: Munster, ...

The Hare Jessie Teh About 35 members. The runsite was along a road near a new housing developement named Bukit Hatamas. A few years ago, we would have been climbing for some 20 mins at this very spot, but now we start the run from here.

Not only were the running trails getting shorter, they are also being over run. That evening the Banana Hash was also running there and recent run papers of at least 3 other chapters were found along most of the trails at the Wangsa Cheras trekking/hiking hill.

Song Lau welcoming 'The German'The run was practically a reverse of the last run set by Warrenti. A short trek into the jungle and then down and then all the way up to around level 5.

From there it was all down and taking the right trail to home. Warrenti knowing the area so well that he avoided the falsie and kept going without calling ON ON.

All were out by 7.30pm. On On onsite.

Run: 783 Occassion: 7th Rotation Run hosted by Mount Kiara H4 Venue: Setia Alam Eco Park

"For a start most members were not familiar with the area and some decided not to go despite having registered. It was not easy to find the runsite as those who went found out. The venue was a new development area and the backdrop was the Bukit Cherakah forest area. A short run where all runners were out in 1hr 40 mins. The celebration lasted till about Midnight." (HLH4 Newsletter 08/08)

(Update 25/07/08) The run started at 5.30pm through an oil palm estate. The begining trail allowed the middle and back runners to shortcut when the FROPs were seen coming downhill.

After a few mild climbs and 2 checks came the long steep climb which had many gasping for air. Going uphill, most stopped along the way not only to catch their breath but also to enjoy the view of Port Klang and the sea.

A further climb brought the runners to the top where low flying planes could have given them a haircut.

The home trail was from the hill top that led down to a clearing before cutting through some rubber and along side the fence.

The FRBs were out in about 1 hour 5 mins.

It was heard that there were supposed to be 2 trails. But the long run had to be cancelled due to the hares being screwed up, probably by their own egos. One of them took some 5 hours to run back while the rest took a cab back to the runsite.

There was the usual circle with On Downs and presentations by GMs and to GMs etc.

An incident involving HLH4 members to be recalled.

Jessie brought Tsunami in her 2 weeks old Honda City. After changing to their running attires, one of them (no prizes for guessing who, but, most probably the one who really loves to get her ass iced) 'accidently' left the car keys in the boot and the car then auto locked.

As a damsel was in distress, our local hero 'Ular' came to the rescue. He volunteered and drove Jessie back home to get the spare keys while Tsunami waited by the car with some members feeding some mosquitoes. (report by NoHair)

Ai Dee Ten Tee

Cockscrew Chin of the Kacang H4 was very proud of himself ever since his son showed him how to use the computer and explained about emails and surfing the net.

So much so, the past few runs, he talked about nothing but emails and the web.

One evening he had some trouble with his computer and as his son was not in at that time, Cockscrew called his 12 year old neighbour to come over.

The boy next door came over and clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem.

As the boy was walking away, Cockscrew called after him

"Thanks. So, what was wrong, ahh?"

The boy replied, "Oh It was an ID ten T error".

Cockscrew didn't want to appear stupid but nonetheless inquired,

"What?, An ID ten T error? What's that? In case I need to fix this problem again".

The boy grinned and said.

"Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?"

"No" replied Cockscrew.

"Well, you write it down" the boy said "and I think you'll figure it out".

Cockscrew went immediately to the computer, opened up 'Word' and typed ... (click On On below)

Run: 781 Hare: Lim U I Venue: Bukit Angkat Sub-Cons: Kok Pain, Kiki Lala

goinf in towards the sunset There was a celebration run cum sit down dinner by the Mantin Hash this evening, so a group of HLH4 members joined them. Then there were some who still smarting from last week's climb, crawl, walk 'run'. And then there were some who had not got over the bloody leeches.

So at 6pm only a handfull of about 13 members went in for the run. The papers led from the hare's hubby's factory on tarmac road past the housing estste. It was a good 35 min 'facing the blazing sun all the way' walk until the 1st check, which was a backcheck.

coming out of the jungle Still under open skies, but snaking through thick vegetation uphill, brought the walkers to another check. After this, the papers led into the only jungle for a bash through track downhill. Thorny creepers and twines broke the falls and slowed down the FROP.

It was a relief to come out of this 'jungle' onto hill clearings and down to a shallow shiggy. From then on, it was all on open ground, past the cattle sheds and onto the home trail.

The FRBs were out in 1hr 10 mins while the back pack was out about 20 mins later. With some late comers, there were about 20 members who completed the run.

Just out for the beer On On on site. Knowing it was going to be a small turnout, the hare and her hubby preprared 'Steam Boat' for the On On. Cock Pain agreed that the food was machine washed.

Run: 780 Hare: Yee Mai Venue: Broga Co-Hares: NoHair, ...

The in-trail led past the fenced-up plantations and played around on the lower foothills. A slight climb brought the runners to a check by the lone mango tree on top of the hill. This was broken further up the hill to give the hashers a straight steep climb.

Halfway up this climb, a check was again laid. A falsie on this check regrouped the FROP and on call was hailed and led to a falsie before the real trail was higher up the hill.

The trail then led up and just before reaching the big rock on top of the hill, the papers took a right turn which led to a check. The FROP had to backtrack to break it on the left for th final climb to the top.

The home trail from the top led on the "highway" down through the 'lalang' hill behind the Broga temple. Coming down on some parts which were slippery due to the heavy rain that fell earlier in the afternoon.

Cock Pain was FRB in 1 hr 30mins with KikiLala trailing 20mins behind. The rest trickled out in intervals of between 20 to 39 mins. Ballcracker and Gary Leong took on the task of sweeping out the backpack which included 2 first timers, who had a near 4 hour run-walk-climb-curse-crawl-curse-slide-curse.

Lightning and thunder that came on warranted a quick and short circle while waiting for the backpack to come out.

As nothing much could be done in the rain while waiting for the backpack, someone went to check on the leeches that were brought out the hashers. The count was about 140 with the co-hares having about 40 between them.

Of course, a favourite of the bloody leeches was none other than Tsunami.

Run: 779 Hare: "Maan" Chong Kok Meng Venue: Hulu Langat Agro Tech Co_Hares: Munster, Guitarman, Jesminder

The Hare being OnDowned About 35 members. Normally, the harriets and the slow runners would take the lead at the ON ON sound before a run. It was no different this time and they got screwed. For, from carpark, the papers led across the road for an immediate climb.

Looking down at the falsie This was a falsie, which one member later termed as "idiotic". So back to the runsite. Somehow or rather, the usual FRBs knew where the correct trail was. The actual trail led through the Agro Tech Garden Shalets.

From there, it was just climb, climb and climb, with some backchecks being laid along the way. From clear road on the top, it led down all the way on the right and home.

All out after the run
While on the top of the hill, the hashers heard a piercing scream. Most though it sounded like someone being raped. So like the calvary, the guys, led by Dipstick, charged to the rescue and to their horror, they found Tsunami bleeding. She was ... (continued after the video, click On On below).

Run: 778 Hare: Warrenti Venue: Sunway Cheras (Wangsa Cheras) Co-Hare: (no co-hare)

The start First, there was the inaugural Joint Malaysia/Indonesia Run at Bukit Tinggi, Padang, Indonesia, for which about 25 members had signed up. Second, a run at Cheras would certainly mean a hill climb. Third, we were into the second week of a 41% petrol hike. And lastly, the hare was Warrenti (who could forget his last few runs).

The hare's note to hashers
Yet about 20 members and some 7 guests managed to find their way to Sunway Cheras. Four of the guests were from KL Dalmations led by their GM. Blackjack, who came in support of the hare. To entice the hashers to go in, the Hare placed a note (pix on right) on his car.

From the runsite, which was a car park at Sunway Cheras, it was a leisurely 1km walk up to the foothills of the Hulu Langat Forest Reserve at Wangsa Cheras. The trail went up all the way to Level 6.

From the top, the papers led down the slope on the left and out at the Cheras Awana side. The trail went along the cut-hill slope and before re-entering the jungle to exit at the in-trail.

Dipstick was FRB in 1hr 5mins while the KL 'dogs' were out at 8.30pm. It seemed they were exchanging old time stories which kept them slow.

On On onsite with capati, chicken curry and vege-fried rice.
